Black salt is a mild laxative and reduces flatulence and heartburn in moderate quantities. It is called Kala Namak in Hindi, Rocksalt in English, and also known as Himalayan black salt. Its unique flavor is a result of a high level of sulfur and is the prime salt of South Asian cuisine.
